Health Precinct - Gregory Hills Private Hospital
Construction will soon start on a private hospital in Gregory Hills, set to be the first stage of a $500 million health and innovation precinct.
A 78-bed private hospital, already approved, is the first step of the sprawling development and will begin construction in October.
The initial phase of the development is built around a 78-bed private hospital. This has been driven by significant needs analysis in the area.
There are a lot of young families, with the growing population in the LGA, and clearly a need for more hospital beds and increased primary medical needs. It's a long drive to Liverpool and other hospitals in the area.
Stages two and three of the project, with planning expected to take shape in the next few years, will see the full medical precinct realised.
Planning approval has already been granted for a mixed-use medical campus, large-scale general hospital and biomedical facility.
There will be specialist medical and related services, nursing, doctors and all the various allied health services.
People can live and work much closer to home, which will be a bit of a trend for the future.
Who else believes that this new precinct would be a massive boost to healthcare in Camden?
